1970 Drive-Chek Control

The Series 1970 Drive-chek is a multi-purpose sub-base that is mounted under a chain or belt driven mechanism. The unit serves three purposes; namely, a broken chain or belt detector, a chain or belt tightener, and a shock and vibration isolator.

Overview
The DRIVE-CHEK is a multi-purpose sub base that is mounted under a chain or belt driven mechanism. The unit serves three purposes; namely, a broken chain or belt detector, a chain or belt tightener, and a shock and vibration isolator. A Gemco Indicator Switch is provided with each DRIVE-CHEK Unit to indicate when a drive belt or chain failure has occurred. Shock and vibration from the machine to the hinge plate of the DRIVE-CHEK Unit are dampened by coil springs on one end of the hinge plate and an elastomeric support on the other end. The springs also maintain a constant tension in the drive belt or chain. DRIVE-CHEK is of rugged welded construction and is painted to prevent corrosion. The drive chain or belt can be attached to the mechanism being driven from either above or below the DRIVE-CHEK base.

1980 Rotating Cam Limit Switch

The Series 1980 Micro-Adjust Rotating Cam Limit Switch is a pilot device used for heavy duty material handling mechanisms, mechanical presses, packaging machines, rotary tables, and in many other applications where repetitive and sequential operations are required in control circuitry. When motion is expressed in shaft rotation, either thru a roller chain, gear train, or directly, the Rotating Cam Limit Switch makes it possible to open or close independent circuits at any desired angular positions. The Series 1980 is available in NEMA 1, NEMA 4 & 5, NEMA 7, NEMA 9, and NEMA 12 enclosures.  The units can be ordered with 2 to 40 circuits.

1980R Rotating Cam Limit Switch w/resolver

The Series 1980R combines a resolver based signal off of the existing camshaft. Many press operations are now being fitted with automation equipment that requires limit switch outputs. While most press control outputs remain unchanged from die to die, the automation outputs frequently require adjustment. The Series 1980R Cam/Resolver package provides the safety and reliability of mechanical cams for press control circuits. The industrial grade resolver supplies the input to a programmable limit switch that provides the automation other frequently changed outputs.

The Series 1980 is available in NEMA 1, NEMA 4 & 5, NEMA 7, NEMA 9, and NEMA 12 enclosures.  The units can be ordered with 2 to 40 circuits.

1983 Optical Limit Switch

The Series 1983 Opto-Cam is a rotating cam limit switch that uses a photo eye to optically actuate. Used primarily for applications requiring high speed positioning, up to 3600 RPM, where a mechanical switch would not be able to function.

The Series 1983 Opto-Cam has 2-40 circuit rotating cam limit switch assemblies with NEMA 4, 7, and 12 enclosures. It has AC and DC outputs with 3-amp plug-in opto 22 outputs. Also, a 3" micro-adjust cam for precision settings from 1° to 359°.

1986MD - Mill Duty Housing

The Series 1986MD with Mill-Duty Housing is designed for harsh environments where a standard resolver would normally be destroyed. It has a ¼” (6.35 mm) plate steel construction and jackshaft input to drive resolvers, encoders, tach generators or any combination. Also, an air purge fitting for positive pressure or cooling. The Vortex cooler or internal heater helps protect the resolver from extreme temperatures.

The Series 1986 with Mill-Duty Housing comes in custom versions that include all 316 stainless steel construction shaft sizes to 1-3/4” diameter and dimensions sized to existing mounting envelope which is also available in metric sizes.
